Why Julie Made The Switch To Solid Shampoo!

One of the main reasons I made the switch to solid shampoo was to have a more natural product. I was noticing more and more that the ingredients in liquid shampoos often listed chemicals and sulfates that I did not want to use on my hair. It was hard to find shampoo that did not contain these checmicals and when I did, it was crazy expensive. My hairdresser warned me of the long term damage that these shampoos can cause, so I went on a quest to find an alternative. That is when I found solid haircare.

I tried several different bars and found that solid haircare has its “frauds” as well. On my quest I learned that many companies will list a shampoo bar for sale, but in reality it is a soap bar. When I used this style of bar my hair was ratty, greasy and overall…gross. I learned through my research that the PH of soap is too high for hair and that is why my hair felt so yucky.

I came across Country Goods USA solid shampoo bars at a tradeshow. When I researched the ingredients I found that the bar had gentle, natural ingredients so I decided to give it a try. What a difference a bar made!

Let’s talk about the natural goodness packed into this bar of shampoo. Unlike their liquid counterparts, these solid shampoo bars are made with gentle, natural ingredients that do wonders for my locks. The bars also contain conditioning oils, botanical extracts, and essential oils. It’s like giving my hair a big ol’ hug every time I lather up!
Also, liquid shampoo contains a ton of water. These bars are concentrated, and a little goes a LONG way. The other great benefits is that you don’t have to throw away a bottle. It is the best of all worlds.

Solid shampoo bars make my hair washing routine  simple and easy. I now pair this with the Country Goods USA conditioner bar to get the most silky rinse on my hair. The conditioner leaves my hair soft, tangle free and smooth.

Solid shampoo bars offered me a more natural approach to my hair care routine and I will never look back. Here are my tips to using the solid shampoo and conditioner bars:

  1. Keep them sry in between uses – I have mine up high in the shower on a draining soap dish. Dry is key as the will melt if they sit in water.
  2. A little goes a long way with the shampoo. Literally 2 swipes on my wet hair and that is all the lather I need.
  3. I apply the conditioner bar liberally and do a light rinse. I like to leave quite a bit of residue in my hair to act as a leave in conditioner.
  4. I go through the shampoo bars a little quicker than  the conditioner, so now I buy 2 shampoo bars and 1 conditioner bar when I make the purchase.

If you have been considering making the switch, I encourage you to give a shampoo bar a try. If you are like me, you will love the simplicity of this new hair care routine.
